Aroma of the Andes
Aroma of the Andes is a family owned coffee farm located in the Andes Mountains of Colombia, just outside the town of Supatá. At Finca La Despensa, the Brown family cultivates 6,500 coffee trees using natural growing methods. Their coffee is shade-grown, handpicked, and sun-dried, producing a smooth, flavorful cup that reflects the care taken from tree to roast.
The Brown family's journey to coffee farming began in 1993 when Duane Brown traveled to Colombia on a humanitarian mission and formed a lasting friendship with a local resident. Nearly two decades later, that friendship led to the opportunity to purchase a coffee farm.
In 2012, Duane, Rachel, and their sons, Joshua and Justin, became the owners of Finca La Despensa. They continue to produce high-quality Colombian coffee while honoring the farm's history and sharing its harvest with customers in West Virginia and beyond. Every bag represents a commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and the enduring relationships that made the farm possible.
